"Your songwriting is deep and mature, showing the kind of wisdom and connection to the past that I have admired in authors much older than yourself. -Tony Williamson "...how much I enjoyed your album. I sat there with a smile on my face the whole time. You are a natural! You have the beauty in your heart and it comes through in your music..." -Dale Ann Bradley "...I have been overwhelmed by your style. The bluegrass world is about to experience a new phenomenon." -Bob Putnam "Many thanks...for Past Presence which I have been enjoying. You all have written some powerful tunes-I was especially enamored with "Mountain Memories," "Truth Behind The Lies," "Sterett's Last Run," and the title track. Plus you've done a fine job covering songs such as "Mandolin Rain," "Those Memories," and "Old Joe Clark." Thanks again for the cool tunes!" - Dave Higgs WLPN Bluegrass Breakdown |

| Bluegrass at its Best |
Past Presence connects the bluegrass music of today with the songs and lives of past generations from the mountains and hollows of Kentucky and is expressed and delivered by Ashley Lewis, daughter, great-grand daughter ,and great-great-grand daughter of those mountain people. Three of the six originals were influenced by her ancestors or the lands on which they lived. The title song, "Past Presence," is the inspirational story of Ashley and her great-grandparents. From the diverse originals, including the haunting lonesome sound on, "Sterett's Last Run," to the fresh approach on bluegrass standards, Past Presence delivers a distinctive bluegrass sound with smooth harmonies and exceptional instrumentation. |
